The House of Sickness

I have never been one to complain about my kids being sick. I know it happens and we have actually been very blessed with our kids not getting to horribly sick. UNTIL NOW! I am so so tired of having a sick family! All the lovely-ness started about a month ago when Tanner brought the cold bug home from school with him. He was then very kind and shared that bug with Gavin. When Gavin gets sick, he is soooooo sick! He has had croup about 7 times in his 2 short years.
I was beginning to think that Gavin did not yet get the consept of sharing until Zachary started coughing one day. UGH!! Zach has now had this horrible ickyness for 3 weeks. Because of the severity of his cough and a fever, he was put on Tamaflu. Thank goodness for Tamaflu! He is finally starting to feel better and sleep again.
I usually love when my sweet children share things with me....but not this! After Zach decided that I needed to join in on the sicky fun I got sooo sick! It has now been a little over a week and I think I am starting to feel better. For a while there nothing was working for me.
I am happy that it looks like we are on the tail end of this bug sharing, we just hope that nobody else has to deal with it!!

5 Years Old & Cute As Can Be!!

A few weeks ago I had my first child...ok, that is only how it feels. I cannot believe that five years has flown by so quickly! Tanner is such a joy! This little man keeps us smiling, laughing and loving.
I took a few pictures of him at our friends house last month. He was so adorable!

Birthdays & Vacation

It amazes me how busy my life has become since Tanner started school. I didn't think there would be much difference but oh was I wrong. I have finally found a few minutes to catch up on the blogging and add a few pictures of the past few weeks.
We now have a 5 year old at our house and he will not let us forget it. Tanner is very proud to be five and has to make sure everyone knows it. He is also very excited because he can now have his very own library card., something he has been anticipating for quite a while now.
In the middle of getting ready for vacation we had a small birthday party for him. He really enjoyed himself and has not stopped talking about the ice cream sundaes they had. Here are a few pics:

The day before his birthday I took cupcakes to his Kindergarten class and I was able to get a few pictures of the celebration they had for him:

Tanner and his teachers:

The day after his birthday party (on his real birthday) my mom and a friend of hers came from Utah to visit. Tanner had asked to go to Dollywood for his birthday so we loaded up the cars (we had to take both the van and Michael's car to get us all there) and headed to Tennessee for 3 days. We had so much fun!!!

Daddy & the boys sitting in the hotel room:
Tanner & Nana driving the old fashioned cars:
Renee & Gavin take their turn:
I hate to say that those are the only pictures I took but if I didn't then I would be lying. We were having such a wonderful time, I kept forgetting to take out the camera.

My Favorite Time of the Year!

I love fall! The weather is beautiful, the leaves change colors, the neighborhood is quiet during the day with all the kids at school..hehe

I also love it because I love General Conference. I get so excited to keep with traditions and have yummy meals over conference weekend. On Saturday I will make breakfast, between sessions we will have homemade eggrolls with friends, and on Sunday all the fixens for hoagies come out. YUM!

Tanner is getting really excited for conference also. He has an activity book that he got from church and he has been listening to this: (You will have to pause my music so that you can hear)

I posted this last year, but this is the updated version with all the new apostles. We hope that you all have an enjoyable General Conference weekend!!

One Little, Two Little, Three Little Sweet Boys!

To my three handsome young men,

I know that sometime in the future you will get to the age when you will be able to read this. I want you to know that I am honored to be your mom! I couldn't have asked for three sweeter little men. I know that I make mistakes in the mommy catagory but you guys are awesome for looking over those mistakes and loving me anyway.

Tanner,

You make me laugh! You are so silly and loving and kind. I admire your ability to make friends with everyone you see. The elderly lady in CVS, the teenage boy at the DMV, even the very eccentric gentleman in the checkout line at the grocery store. You are a wonderful example of accepting everyone and loving all those you come in contact with. I am very proud of you for learning how to read so early and having the desire to learn new things every day. I look forward to the day that you become a missionary, even though you say now that you do not want to change your name to Elder, I think you will witness the rewards that will come to you :) Always remember bubba, your mom loves you!!

-Mom

Gavin,

What can I say? You are such a gem! That little smile of yours just melts my heart and I will never get tired of your sweet hugs and kisses. I know that learning to talk is hard, but I am very proud of the things you are learning. I cannot wait for the time when you fill my days with your darling conversations. I look forward to it! I love that you enjoy the Primary songs so much and as long as you want to sing Popcorn Popping, I will be right there by your side doing the actions with you. I cannot believe that you are almost 2 years old! The time has gone by so quickly! Please stay little for just a little while longer! Remember Monkey, I love you lots!

-Mama

Zach,

You light up my life! You are so sweet and kissable! I am so honored that you were sent to our family. Your brothers and dad and I love you so much! I am thrilled every day to see you learn new things. Right now you love to roll and you are trying some new foods. I love that you enjoy laughing and that you find a way to do so every day. It makes my heart melt when I walk into the room and your little face lights up with acknowledgment of your mommy, what a blessing you are! Remember munchkin, mommy loves you!!

Tanner's New Treasure..

Tanner went to the orthopedic surgeon today and found out that he has broken both bones in his arm/wrist. He is now in a cast up past his elbow for 6 weeks. He told the doctor that he wanted a red and blue cast so that he can look like Spiderman. The doctor fulfilled Tanner's wish and on the way home he told me, "Mom, I sure do love my new treasure! I want a whole costume on me like this!" I am not to sure that he would really appreciate a body cast, I know I sure wouldn't :)

Bent and Broken!

That may seem like a strange title for a post but it best describes our sweet Tanner's arm. On Monday we were heading out the door to our friends' house and Tanner fell while running down the wheelchair ramp we have. He cried a little and complained about the scratch on his wrist. We went ahead to our friends house and he just wasn't the happy little man he usually is. When we got home I took him to the ER to get it checked out. We had kinda decided that maybe it was sprained. He wasn't really complaining, he was just mellow and he wasn't using his arm.

After a few xrays it became apparent that Tanner had a buckle fracture. He bent the bone right above his wrist on his left arm. He is in a temporary cast until Friday when he will go to the orthopedic doctor and have a hard cast put on. They said that they may have to fully break his arm so that it will heal straight. Tanner was so brave and we are very proud of him!
