Upholstry Anyone?
I know that I am all into character and distressed stuff, but my piano bench was a little to much distress for my taste:

There Is Music In The Air!
I love that my children are growing up and are interested in new adventures. Sending Tanner to school in a few weeks is going to be tough for me. He has been moms little buddy for the last 4 years. Following me everywhere, having conversations that make me laugh so hard I feel that I might do something not so "grownupish". Nice word eh?
Tanner's newest adventure is that of becoming a piano man. He started piano lessons on Thursday and has carried his new piano book around with him everywhere. I have a hard time believing that I have a child old enough to learn an instrument but I am so thrilled that he is interested in doing it.
Here is a picture of his first piano lesson with his sweet teacher Lori. She is in our ward and is so good with him.

After his first lesson he told us that we really needed to get a piano right away. We have been looking for one for quite some time but we were never lucky enough to find one we could afford. Well, I happen to be looking for a twin mattress for Gavin's bed today and thought that I would just check and see if there were any pianos for sale in the paper. Lucky us, we found one!
We bought this piano today for $100..they were just looking to get it out of their way!

It is a Lester piano so it is fairly old. As you can see in the picture it is short and stocky. I love it! It has so much caracter. The piano bench is really scratched up so I think I am going to apholster the top. We are looking forward to many wonderful years with this beauty :)

2 Posts In One :)
I Hope They Call Me On A Mission!
One of the great things about living outside of Utah is that we get the opportunity to help feed the missionaries at Zone Conference. It is such a rewarding experience for the Relief Society sisters. I took Tanner with me today and he really enjoyed it. There is a tradition at Zone Conference...all the missionaries stand and sing Called To Serve to the sisters who worked in the kitchen. It is an amazing experience. Tanner's favorite Primary song just happens to be Called To Serve. He listens to it at least 10 times a day (no joke). He was so excited when the Sisters and Elders sang to him. He also got to shake hands with the mission president. I had talked to him on the way to the church about what the mission president does and when he met President & Sister McConkie (Bruce R. McConkie's son) he looked at him and said, "so your the man in charge here?" President McConkie thought it was very funny :)
I took this picture while we were there and I am going to hang it on his wall.
(There were about 50 missionaries there so these are just a few)
Our Little Muffin Is Growing Up!
Our sweet little Zachary is 4 months old today! He is such a cute little man. He doesn't have his 4 month check up until Monday so I do not have any new stats right now but here is a cute picture

The Stone's & Stone Mountain
Wow! I cannot believe it has been over two weeks since I posted last. I didn't realize that I have been so busy. Between swimming lessons, church callings & vacation, we have not been home.
We took a small vacation over the weekend, we spent the 4th of July at Stone Mountain, just outside of Atlanta. We had a lot of fun and made a few great family memories.

The park was very busy on the 4th because Stone Mountain does an amazing laser and fireworks show. Our plan was to be there all day and into the night so that we could watch the fireworks. At about 3:30 we had had enough of the heat. The crowds didn't even bother us that much. The heat was horrible! We decided to just go back to our hotel and swim in the pool since the boys LOVE swimming. Once we were back at the hotel it felt more like vacation..lol.
We found a new favorite restaurant..the only problem is that it is over two hours from our house :(

The first day we were gone we went to the Atlanta Temple.
We knew that it would be closed for renovations but we still wanted the boys to see it. The gates were open so we got to walk around the outside.

I believe that the most fun was spent in our hotel room. The boys had a riot wrestling on the floor and Gavin spent so much time in front of the mirror talking to himself..lol

We were only gone for 3 days but it was fun and much needed. Now we are looking forward to Christmas when we go away as a family and enjoy another new destination :)

Here are a few extra pictures that I thought I should include..
Zach's new favorite place to sleep in on Grandma's bed
While we were in Stone Mountain Tanner was getting tired of all the walking. Grandma was fine with this..lol..she just doesn't look like it :)
