There Is Music In The Air!

I love that my children are growing up and are interested in new adventures. Sending Tanner to school in a few weeks is going to be tough for me. He has been moms little buddy for the last 4 years. Following me everywhere, having conversations that make me laugh so hard I feel that I might do something not so "grownupish". Nice word eh?
Tanner's newest adventure is that of becoming a piano man. He started piano lessons on Thursday and has carried his new piano book around with him everywhere. I have a hard time believing that I have a child old enough to learn an instrument but I am so thrilled that he is interested in doing it.
Here is a picture of his first piano lesson with his sweet teacher Lori. She is in our ward and is so good with him.

After his first lesson he told us that we really needed to get a piano right away. We have been looking for one for quite some time but we were never lucky enough to find one we could afford. Well, I happen to be looking for a twin mattress for Gavin's bed today and thought that I would just check and see if there were any pianos for sale in the paper. Lucky us, we found one!
We bought this piano today for $100..they were just looking to get it out of their way!

It is a Lester piano so it is fairly old. As you can see in the picture it is short and stocky. I love it! It has so much caracter. The piano bench is really scratched up so I think I am going to apholster the top. We are looking forward to many wonderful years with this beauty :)
